The governing body of the Village of Suamico consists of the Village President and 6 trustees, all of whom are elected at large.   At large representation means that the president and trustees represent the whole village and not just the area they reside at.  The president and trustees serve a 3-year term.  Two trustee seats are up for election every April.

In addition, there are several boards, commissions and committees that the village has created either by Wisconsin Statute or pursuant to our General Government Ordinances of the village.  Each board, commission and committee consists of members that are appointed by the Village President has appointed from residents of the village.  These positions are appointed or reappointed in May.  With only a few exceptions, all of the boards, commissions and committees have a trustee appointed to one of the available spots.  While most boards, commissions and committees have 3-year terms the trustees are only appointed for a one-year term.

If you are interested in serving on a board, commission or committee stop into our Village Administrative Offices located at 12781 Velp Avenue to pick up an application.  There is never a bad time to get involved in local government so you can make a difference in your community!
