Suamico Sewer and Water Utility has just completed an upgrade of its billing and receipting software. Barcodes on the top portion of the utility bill, along with the use of a wand to read the barcode, will allow speedy entry of payments by the current village staff. In light of that, the lockbox used by the utilities has been discontinued. All payments of utility bills will now come directly through the Village Hall. This will save money as the lockbox arrangement with the bank was a costly service.
Please consider using ACH to make your utility bill payment. This convenient, easy way of paying your bill is very simple to set up. Call Beth or Peg at the Village Hall for more information or to sign up. There is no fee for the use of ACH to pay your utility bill. Please note that the Village Board has instituted a 2.75% convenience fee on the amount charged on a credit or debit card used to pay a Village fee or utility bill. This charge is listed on the back of your utility bill.
The utility will begin on April 1, 2007 a disconnection program for those customers who are not keeping current on their bills. A short overview of what this process will entail will be included in this quarter’s billing statement, please read it carefully For those customers that may be affected by this, please make a payment as soon as possible to bring your account balance up to date. We would then encourage you to sign up for the ACH program to remain current on payments.
As always, please give us a call at 434-2212 with questions or concerns you may have about these issues or any other. We will be more than happy to help you. |
