On behalf of the Suamico Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee, it is our honor to invite you to attend our community festival. Whether you are a life-long resident who has enjoyed living, working, and entertaining in Suamico or new to the area, please share in the excitement about this marvelous milestone. The committee hopes to see our neighbors, friends, and family as we celebrate our Sesquicentennial, 145 years as a town, 5 years as a village. Our celebration is scheduled to take place Friday, June 20, through Sunday June 22 at Idlewild Park and Vickery Village. The Howard/Suamico Historical Society will also be using this event as a kickoff for their fundraising effort to refurbish Tremble School and use it as their headquarters. Funds raised by the Historical Society will go towards that event. A variety of events are planned including activities for kids, fireworks, Beer Belly II run/walk, planting of a commemorative White Pine tree, a parade, flea market, sidewalk sales, historical cemetery walk, as well as historical displays setup inside of the Village Hall. There will also be bands, food and a beer tent. Please mark your calendars as this event will be fun for the whole family! We are also in need of volunteers on the days leading up to the events and the day of the events. Two-hour shifts will be available throughout the weekend for many activities. The Sesquicentennial Planning Committee meets on every other Tuesday, starting April 1, 2008, at 5 p.m. at the Village Hall. Your help is welcome and appreciated. Sesquicentennial Parade Application
The theme for the sesquicentennial parade is Red, White, & Blue and is held on June 21, 2008. The Flea Market will be held on June 21 and 22, 2008.
