RESOLUTION 08016

VILLAGE OF SUAMICO, WISCONSIN

WHEREAS, the Village of Suamico wishes to participate in the Suamico Sesquicentennial Celebration to be held within the Village of Suamico on June 20, 21 and 22, 2008;

WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes 125.06(6) allows the municipality to permit the sale of fermented malt beverages by officers or employees of the municipality by ordinance, resolution, rule or regulation enacted by the governing body;

WHEREAS, Wisconsin statutes indicate the Village cannot issue a picnic license to itself;

WHEREAS, the Village of Suamico, Village staff, officials and employees are considered part of the municipality;

WHEREAS, the Village of Suamico, Village staff, officials and employees are interested in helping the Village of Suamico participate in the Suamico Sesquicentennial Celebration;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Suamico Village Board grants the authority to the Village staff, Village Board, and Village employees to operate a concession area at Idlewild Park for the Suamico Sesquicentennial Celebration from June 20 – 22, 2008 without displaying an actual "Picnic License";

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village of Suamico does require that the fermented malt beverage servers at the concession area are licensed beverage servers and follow the rules as required by state law;

Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Suamico on this 19th day of May, 2008.
